Magaluf Weather by Month: what to expect and what's open
Average temperatures, sea temperature and rain for every month of the season, with the thing that matters more for a stag or hen trip: what is actually open.
Magaluf has a Mediterranean climate: dry, hot summers and mild, wetter winters. The resort season runs from late March to mid October, and inside that window the weather is reliable enough that rain will not ruin a stag or hen weekend. The question is which month gives you the balance of heat, price and open venues you want.
Magaluf weather in April
Spring. Expect 17°C rising to 20°C by the end of the month, the odd shower, and a sea that is bracing at 16°C. Most bars and clubs open through April and nearly everything is running by the last week. It is the cheapest month to go and fine for a budget stag or hen, but boat parties start late in the month.
Magaluf weather in May
The most popular month for a Magaluf stag do or hen party, and for good reason: 20–24°C, very little rain, 12 hours of daylight, and the sea at 19°C is swimmable for the boat party. Everything is open, hotels and flights are far cheaper than peak summer, and bank holiday weekends sell out the boat and VIP tables early.
Magaluf weather in June
24–28°C, rain almost non-existent, sea 22°C. June is the start of peak: the boat party runs most days, BCM's big line-ups begin, and the resort is full by the second half of the month. Book six to eight weeks ahead.
Magaluf weather in July and August
28–32°C most days with highs into the mid-30s, nights that stay above 22°C, and a sea at 25–26°C. These are the peak weeks: the busiest strip, the biggest pool parties, the highest prices. Great fun; book everything early and drink water on the boat.
Magaluf weather in September
The second-best month and the one we recommend for groups who want summer without peak prices. 24–27°C at the start of the month, cooling to around 22°C by the end, with the sea still 25°C from the summer. More chance of a shower than June but rarely a problem. The closing parties start in the last two weeks.
Magaluf weather in October
Still 20–23°C on average, but October is the wettest month of the year and venues close progressively through it. The first week is closing-party week and worth it; after that it is a gamble and we would steer you to September.
Magaluf in winter
November to March the resort is effectively closed: 12–17°C, most bars and hotels shut, no boat parties or shows. Palma, 20 minutes away, runs year-round if you want a winter trip to the island.
What to pack
Swimwear and a towel for the boat, suncream from May onwards, something warmer for April and October evenings, trainers you can walk the strip in, and fancy dress because the hosts at Gringos reward it.
Temperatures are long-run monthly averages for Magaluf; individual days vary. Sea temperatures are typical for the bay.
