Magaluf's food has moved a long way from the all-day-breakfast strip. The beachfront between Magaluf and Palmanova now has a run of restaurants that would hold their own in Palma, most of them used to big tables and all of them a short walk from the hotels. Barbuda Beach Bar & Grill, Palmanova
On the sand in Palmanova, ten minutes' walk from the strip. Home of the bottomless brunch by day and a proper grill and seafood menu by night, with gluten-free and vegan sections. Takes large groups, good value for the setting, and the one our groups go back to twice in a weekend.
Bondi Beach, Magaluf
Beachside Mediterranean restaurant near Sol Wave House with a chef-led menu, the best paella in the resort and an award-winning cocktail bar. The smart dinner before a VIP night. Book ahead for Saturdays.
Blackbeard's Beach Bar & Grill
Bay views, a long BBQ-led menu with vegan and gluten-free options, live music and prices that will not dent the kitty. The easy choice for the first night of a Magaluf stag do.
SiSo Beach, Palmanova
On Son Matias beach with views across Palmanova bay. Mediterranean menu by executive chef Claudio Vargas, cocktails, and a lively daytime scene. Reserve for weekends.
Robinson Crusoe's
A Magaluf institution with a huge menu, big tables and a terrace. Reliable for groups that cannot agree on what to eat.
Iroko, Palmanova
Asian tapas and sushi, turning into a cocktail bar later. Ten minutes from Magaluf and the pick for a Magaluf hen party that wants something different.
