The Magaluf Strip: where it is and how to do it
Punta Ballena is the street every stag and hen has heard of. Here is where it is, what is on it, when it closes and the order to do it in.
Where is the Magaluf strip?
The strip is Punta Ballena, a street that runs inland from the beach through the centre of Magaluf. It starts near the seafront by the Magaluf beach promenade and climbs for about 500 metres, with bars, clubs, late-night food and shops on both sides. BCM Square, home of BCM Planet Dance, is a few minutes' walk from the top end. Every hotel in the resort is within ten minutes of it on foot, which is the whole point of Magaluf: nobody needs a taxi.
If you are looking at a map, search "Punta Ballena, Magaluf". The beach is to the south, Palmanova to the east (ten minutes' walk), and the marina where the boat parties leave is to the west.
What is on the strip
- Bars from the beach end up: open-fronted party bars with PRs outside, sports bars for the football, and a few cocktail bars. Most open from early evening and close at 4am.
- Clubs: the MCP group venues covered by the Magaluf Club Pass (one wristband, five clubs, drink credit), Mavara on the seafront for VIP booths with a view, and BCM up the hill. Clubs close at 6am.
- Shows: Gringos Bingo and Pirates Reloaded are both a short walk from the strip and finish in time for it.
- Food at 3am: kebabs, pizza and burgers at the bottom of the strip. For dinner before, go to the beachfront; see best restaurants.
How to do the strip on a stag or hen night
- Eat first, properly, at Bondi, Barbuda or Blackbeard's. The strip food is for later.
- Pre-drink at the hotel or an apartment; Sotavento's pool bar is the classic.
- Start at the beach end around 11pm and work up. Agree a meeting bar in case the group splits.
- Use the Club Pass so nobody queues and the drink credit covers the first round in each club.
- Finish at Mavara or BCM: a VIP booth for the hen or stag's big night, or BCM on a headline night.
- Walk home. It is five to ten minutes to every hotel.

The strip by month
The strip wakes up in April, is fully open by May, peaks June to August and winds down through late September. The first week of October is closing-party week. In our month-by-month guide you can see what is open when.
Strip safety for groups
Keep the group together, keep phones zipped, ignore the PRs offering "free" shots if you have the Club Pass, and use licensed taxis (white with a stripe) if you do go further than Palmanova. Your booking host is on hand if anything needs sorting.
